2016’s Most Played Artists

Music licensing company, PPL have revealed 2016’s most played tracks and artists on UK radio.

Coldplay has been named as the most played act on UK radio, whilst Justin Timberlake’s Can’t Stop The Feeling! is the year’s most played track.

British acts are represented strongly in the top ten Most Played Artist Chart, with seven of them (Coldplay, Adele, Olly Murs, Little Mix, Ellie Goulding, Jess Glynne and Calvin Harris) hailing from the British Isles.

The data is supplied by PPL’s licensees, including radio stations and TV channels, as well as businesses such as pubs, clubs, bars and shops across the UK.
