Radio station swaps DJs for Dartmoor and plays recordings of wildlife

A new radio station has launched with no big hits, presenters or news – just the sounds of Dartmoor.

The station will air a ‘soundscape’ from the area, by mixing together noises of local people and wildlife from the moor and playing them in a random order on the airwaves.

While some clips will be uploaded to the internet, Skylark intends for its output to be primarily heard by local people in Devon. The full montage of clips, overlaid on each other, will only be available via analogue radio.
