Choice FM re-branded as Capital XTRA
Urban radio station Choice FM has been renamed Capital XTRA this weekend (Sunday 6th October). The station, owned by Global Radio, continues to be available on DAB and FM in London but at the expense of Smooth Radio 70s. Tina Hobley joins Smooth as they move to Global HQ
Holby City actress Tina Hobley has joined Smooth Radio to host a Sunday morning show as the station moves to Global Radio’s HQ in London this week. The news comes on the same day Global and the Competition Commission arrive in court after the media group appealed on the CC’s Smooth and Real takeover ruling. Radio Today
Absolute Radio introduce Smart Hubs tool

Clyde 1 reveal 40th birthday live artists
To celebrate 40 years of broadcasting, Glasgow based Clyde 1 have announced the list of artists on the bill for their Clyde 1 LIVE 2013 event in December. Girl band The Saturdays, X Factor stars Union J and Brit Award winner Tom Odell will join Rizzie Kicks and The Vamps at the concert. Radio Today
