O’Connell and his co-hosts enjoyed the comfort of his Dorking home and utilised Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium features such as secure, anywhere access to their email and calendars, Office Web Apps, instant messaging, conferencing, and file sharing to present a full breakfast show.
Features included ‘News from the Loos’ and the team tweeted pictures and content to Absolute Radio’s twitter feed throughout the morning.
The activity was part of a piece of wider promotional activity on the breakfast show featuring a competition asking listeners to connect with Christian by identifying where Producer Richie has sent a message from using a different Microsoft device such as a Windows Phone, Microsoft Surface tablet or laptop. The messages will be in various formats including a cloud photo album, email, notes and picture messages.
Absolute Radio’s Head of Promotions Katherine Knapp said: “This is just the latest in a long line of innovative promotional campaigns that we have executed for Microsoft; it’s the first time we have ever produced a full OB from Christian’s home and so we’ll be insisting everyone takes their shoes off at the front door.”
Each day of the week long promotion on air listeners have the chance to win a gadget bundle including an Xbox 360 with Kinect and games, HP Envy laptop, Nokia Lumia phone and a year’s subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium.
Absolute Radio will also stream elements of the broadcast onto the Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium microsite hosted at absoluteradio.co.uk
