Greatest Hits Radio is spicing up the roster. Former BBC Radio 1 presenter Mark Goodier is set to host a new retro Sunday show – and that’s not all; Radio and TV presenter/ DJ Pat Sharp is joining Greatest Hits Radio weekends.
Mark Goodier, who is also the voice of Now Music’s album adverts, will be hosting the new retro chart countdown, in partnership with Now That’s What I Call Music. Goodier will countdown a collection of music from the 70s-90s on Sundays from 5pm till 7pm.
Greatest Hits Radio Content Director, Andy Ashton commented: “Our listeners love hearing music from their formative years and for many the NOW compilations mirror fond memories of good times old and new. Featuring hits throughout the decades of NOW’s reign, this chart countdown will be a fun nostalgic weekend trip for listeners.”
Mark Goodier says: “The NOW compilations have been part of the British music fans’ lives for generations. Following our special 100th edition, this new countdown with Greatest Hits Radio felt like a great fit to bring the discography to life.”
As for Sharp, the ex ‘Fun House’ presenter is joining the weekend show on the Greatest Hits Radio network. Sharp will host mid-mornings every Saturday replacing Mark Matthews at the 10 am -1pm slot. Additionally, Sharp will present the current station feature ‘the Top 10 at 10’, a segment Pat previously presented at Capital FM in the late 80s and 90s.
Pat Sharp says: “The opportunity to join Greatest Hits Radio was too good to pass up. Now I get to play the songs that I helped to make famous first time around, all over again. And I get to chat to millions of friends across the country on this exciting new station that is making an immediate impact. I can’t wait for this Saturday at ten o clock Sharp! If you want the Good Times, you know where to be!”
