The Appeal culminates in a fundraising extravaganza on Friday 1st March, when special guests Nicola Scherzinger, The Wanted, Lawson, The Saturdays, Geri Halliwell, Louis Smith and Beth Tweddle will lend their support alongside Heart presenters including Stephen Mulhern, Toby Anstis, Mark Wright and Emma Bunton.
With every local Heart region involved, this year’s Have a Heart Appeal Week features a host of music and showbiz guests, special surprises, spectacular auction lots and for the first time Heart listeners can take part in an exclusive online raffle with amazing prizes up-for-grabs.
Among the raffle prizes available are a VIP trip to Disneyland Paris, a private box at the O2 for one lucky winner and seventeen friends to see One Direction perform live and four Club Wembley tickets to see the England football team play Ireland this May, plus signed merchandise from the squad. For more information, visit heart.co.uk.
Some of the exclusive auction lots on offer during the day include the opportunity to interview JLS backstage at the Royal Albert Hall and then see them live in concert, a seven-night luxury holiday at the six-star Conrad Maldives Regali Island and also a F1 VIP trip-of-a-lifetime to the Monaco Grand Prix.
The money raised from the Appeal will enable Have a Heart to grant hundreds of magical wishes to seriously ill children across the UK, through three charities: Starlight Children’s Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation UK and Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity.
Have a Heart Ambassador and presenter Toby Anstis said: “This is the week when we can make a real difference to the lives of children across the UK – and with the support of our 7.4 million listeners, we have the opportunity to put a big smile on the faces of some very poorly kids. Whether it’s meeting their favourite celeb, going swimming with dolphins or visiting Mickey Mouse, to grant them a wish would help them get through their daily struggles.”
