The last few months have seen Spotify showcasing some new features, so we thought we would give you a round up of what they are all about!
- Found them First – this allows users to see what bands they caught onto before they gained popularity. It gives the date of when you first started listening to the artists, and what percentage of the first listeners you fall into. Spotify considers the “top 1-15 percent of listeners” as ‘early listeners’ which means you can now consider yourself, objectively, a better music fan.
- Spotify Running – A feature that is designed to provide a soundtrack that perfectly syncs with the users running pace. When the users begin a run, Spotify uses their smartphone’s sensors to determine how fast they are going and picks songs with a matching tempo.
- Concerts – Spotify’s new ‘About’ page for artists at first simply seemed like just a redesign to the existing biographical description of each act on the service, however, it has been noted that a new ‘concerts’ feature has been put on the page, but what does this mean? Spotify have simply said that they test new features internally all the time. Is Spotify about to become a ticket vendor? Or is this simply a third-party plugin?
We will keep our eyes peeled and update you soon!
