May 2018 RadioWorks Blog
Today marks day 1 of the first Radio Audio Week, and here at RadioWorks we are VERY excited to be celebrating the best of radio and audio in the UK, as well as finding out the latest RAJAR results this Thursday – so you will be hearing from us a lot this week!
“The audio revolution” has seen record numbers of people listening to the radio and streaming services, which has also resulted in record advertising revenues for the medium. Audio is booming, from an increase in the number of podcasts being created and listened to, to the launch and adoption of voice-activated devices, which has sky-rocketed over the last 18 months.
A number of conferences, lectures, seminars and networking events are being hosted to celebrate the audio medium, and you can find out what’s happening in detail on the Radio Audio Week website. We will be present throughout the week, with our Managing Director, Emily Turnbull and Maple Street Creative’s Neil Cowling presenting at the IAB Sound Investment Seminar this Thursday, so do come and say hello!
Tomorrow, also sees both BBC and commercial radio stations around the UK uniting to broadcast a one-minute message about mental health. The recording will air simultaneously on May 15 at 10.59am and will feature globally famous voices talking about the stigma of mental health to recognise Mental Health Awareness Week.
