Your 2020 Travel Sponsorship Guide

For us agency folk, the gloomy winter months bring tons of exciting new opportunities. With today being Blue Monday, now’s the best time to banish the blues for those in need. And what better way to achieve this, than with an exciting audio travel sponsorship? Radio can be used effectively to target holiday goers by creating bespoke integrated content on air – after all, almost 50% of frequent travellers listen to commercial radio every week.

So to that end, here are a few exciting new opportunities your travel brands can get involved in this year.

Record year for DAB radio as standard in new vehicles

Last year was a record year for DAB with 2.38 million new vehicles fitted with DAB digital radio as standard.

The data comes from industry analysts CAP and The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) for Q4 2019.

DAB in new car registrations rose to a record 95% of all new cars in Q4 2019, while DAB in new commercial vehicles increased to a record of over 64%. This means that for the full year of 2019 there were 2.15 million new cars and 232,600 new commercial vehicles fitted with DAB as standard.
