Radio listening remains strong

Plus commercial radio's share of listening increases

Here are the radio listening headlines from the RAJAR release for Q3 2014. All statistics are for weekly listening unless otherwise stated.

	9 out of 10 Uk adults listen to radio every week, that's 47.6 million people.
	64% of Uk adults listen to commercial radio, with the figure standing at 34 million people. Commercial radio's share of listening has increased to 43.7% against the BBC's 53.6%.
	51% of listeners use either DAB, desktops or smart devices to listen to radio at least once a week, whilst 37.8% of all radio listening is via digital platforms.
	As the Uk's biggest radio brand, Heart saw a modest quarter on quarter increase in its weekly listeners, taking it to 9.07 million. Another Global brand, Capital, is in second place with its figures also slightly increasing, up to 7.34 million. Bauer's Kiss is in third and added 225,000 listeners taking it to 4.86 million.
	London stations remain in the same position as last quarter - they're placed Capital, Magic, Kiss, Heart, LBC with sixth placed Absolute up 15.8% year on year at 800,000 listeners.
	RAJAR digital darling Absolute 80s puts in another excellent quarter; up 15% QonQ taking it to 1.43 million weekly listeners, another station record.
	In the London breakfast show rankings, Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon on Capital remain top with 1 million listeners, Magic is up to 2nd with 781,000 and Kiss is up to 3rd on 689,000. Heart breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton drop from 2nd to 6th this quarter.
	Outside of commercial radio, both Nick Grimshaw and Chris Evans have lost listeners from their shows this quarter. BBC Radio 1 breakfast has lost 159,000 and Radio 2 loses 608,000 weekly listeners.
