Record reach for Kisstory – this quarter’s most listened to digital commercial station.
Plus a great set of results for the Heart Brand, which now includes the newly reporting Heart Extra DAB station.
Here are the radio listening headlines from the RAJAR release for Q3 2016. All statistics are for weekly listening unless otherwise stated.

The BBC are just ahead of Commercial radio in terms of weekly reach by 61,000 people, delivering 51.5% of listening hours.

48.2million (9 out of 10) adults listen to radio every week, and
64% of adults listen to commercial radio.

The networked stations continue to deliver high reach with listening figures well into the millions;
Heart Brand 9.6m, Capital Brand
8.7m, Smooth Brand 5.5m, Kiss 5.4m, and, Absolute Network 4.5m.

Capital still remains in top spot as London's most popular station with 2.01m listeners, whilst
Kiss remains in second place with 1.8m people tuning in.
Magic has overtaken
Heart for third place with 1.8m and
LBC 97.3 has fallen behind in 5th place with 991,000 listeners.
Clyde 1 remains the most listened to commercial station in Scotland with 660,000 weekly listeners and in Northern Ireland,
Cool FM has jumped up to 400,000 weekly listeners. In Wales,
Heart South Wales is number 1 with 484,000 listeners.

Dave Berry, George and Lilah on
Capital FM continue to lead the way at breakfast reaching 1.04 million listeners. Kiss (Ricky, Melvin and Charlie) took second place with 853,000 listeners and Magic have moved up to third place from fifth place last quarter with 734,000 listeners, going above both LBC and Heart.

Digital
figures remain consistent -
45.5% of all listening is via
digital platforms, with 59% of
the population now tuning in
digitally every week. The
largest proportion of digital
listening is via DAB radio with
32.3% of all listening hours.

In the digital-only station race,
Kisstory has knocked
Absolute 80s off the top spot. The station has increased listenership by 23% year on year and now posts 1.6m listeners. Absolute 80s has dipped slightly, delivering 1.45m listeners.
Smooth Extra has also overtaken
Planet Rock for third place with 1.07m and 1.06m listeners respectively.
