Leona Graham gets Absolute Radio morning show
Leona Graham will take over the mid-morning programme on Absolute Radio from next month as Russ Williams leaves the show after 17 years. Russ announced last month that after 22 years on weekdays at the station he’ll move to the weekend schedule only, continuing to present Saturday’s Rock N Roll Football show.
Alesha Dixon has taken on the role of Ambassador for The Bauer Academy and its ‘Step Inside’ training programme. The courses are fully funded by Creative Skillset, with Support from HM Government with Employer Ownership funding, and are completely free, open to everyone regardless of background or employment status and are fully flexible to suit the needs of participants.
Mick Hucknall: ‘More people are listening to music now than ever’
Singer Mick Hucknall has welcomed the advent of streaming and other new technology, saying that it has increased opportunities for artists. Hucknall, who has reunited Simply Red for a new album and 30th anniversary tour later this year, told Music Week that he is happy with the current state of the industry.
