Edison Research (America): AM/FM still leads Share of Music, but streaming and mobile are catching up

The new report focuses on American adults’ music listening habits and reveals ongoing changes to where and when AM/FM radio still holds the largest share, as well as who is most frequently tuning in.

Within the average of 4 hours and 7 minutes of audio listening a day, 3 hours and 16 minutes (or 79%) are dedicated to music. News and talk/personalities each has a 9% share of the total audio time, while sports has 3%.

Magic Radio to broadcast live from a plane

Magic in the Morning is becoming Magic in New York for a promotion which includes broadcasting live from an aeroplane. Nick Snaith and Jules Lang will broadcast from London Heathrow Terminal 3 and the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, and continue as it moves from the lounge to the Virgin Atlantic aircraft and the presenters will take the audience into the sky on the flight to New York.

Nick Ferrari broadcasts show from USA to cover US election

Nick Ferrari and Matt Frei will be hosting their programmes for LBC from America during this week’s US Election.

Nick will be in New York and Matt heads to Washington, whilst Iain Dale and Shelagh Fogarty reprise their partnership to anchor LBC’s US election night results on Tuesday 8th into Wednesday 9th November.

Unforgettable Radio flips to all festive tunes

Portsmouth DAB+ station Unforgettable Radio has switched to all Christmas music last week. The radio station will play festive favourites from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, Perry Como, Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole and Doris Day. It normally plays Crooners, Swingers and Cool Jazz 24/7, but will spend the next 58 days in festive mode.
