Digital radio progress welcomed at event
Digital radio progress was celebrated at a special Digital Radio Summer Reception on Monday at Global in London.
there are now digital audio devices in 20 million UK households including DAB digital radios and the expanding range of bluetooth, wireless and voice-controlled speakers and smart audio devices. Additionally digital radio is in 10 million cars on the road, equating to 30% of all cars in the UK, and nearly 90% of all new cars registered have digital radio fitted as standard.

Wireless Group’s Belfast-based station U105 has gone on digital radio for the first time this week.
It’s been on FM since launching in November 2005, but has now gone Northern Ireland-wide on the country’s DAB multiplex.
