All change at Virgin Radio Breakfast

Last week we told you about all the schedule changes at Absolute Radio, and this week we have news from Virgin Radio.

Edith Bowman will be departing the breakfast show on 29th September. Edith has been with the station since launch in March 2016, and has had a long career in radio; spending over a decade at Radio 1 from 2003 to 2015 as well as presenting on Capital. She’s being reunited with Colin Murray for an hour-long show as part of Radio 1 Vintage, which will go out at midday on Saturday 30th September – the day after her final show on Virgin.

Gem 106 breakfast duo Sam and Amy are to replace Edith as the new Virgin Radio breakfast presenters. They’ll start on Virgin on Monday 2nd October and will be on air 6am-10am. The duo have been on Gem 106 and its predecessor Heart for the last 11 years and have also done shifts on Radio 2 and Magic.

Amy said: “After working together for ten years, Sam and I have been itching to put our show on a national scale and Virgin Radio is the perfect home. The music & guests lined up are so exciting and as soon as Sam’s learned who half of them are, it’s gonna be a great show.”
