Christmas is the time for giving, and radio stations across the country have been busy raising money for charity this festive season.

Global Radio’s annual charity gala, Global’s Make Some Noise Night, took place last week and raised £801,150 for charity.

Now in its third year, Global has united all its radio brands – Heart, Capital, Capital XTRA, Radio X, Classic FM, LBC, Smooth and Gold – to raise money for disadvantaged youngsters across the UK living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity.

Over at Bauer Radio, Mission Christmas 2016 is also under way. Mission Christmas is the largest annual Christmas toy appeal in the UK, run by Cash for Kids – Bauer Radio’s network of local charities that operates across 21 areas around the UK.

With 1 in 3 children across the UK living in poverty this December, for many families Christmas is simply a luxury they can’t afford. This year’s Mission Christmas aims to beat last year’s fundraising total and help make sure it can help as many children as possible.

Those listeners who don’t have time to shop can text MISSION to 70808 to make a £5 donation to the appeal or click here to donate online.
